On July 31 2010, from 10 til 4, there was a presentation called "Jihad in Jacksonville" held at the Glad Tidings Church off University Blvd. Although held in a church, it was a secular event. The first thing I noticed was the surprising amount of security. I was stopped twice before I even entered the parking lot, and then had my purse checked before I entered the building. I hadn't given any thought to the possible need for security, but perhaps attendance would have been greater if people had been aware of these precautions. The setting was very comfortable, with padded pews, readily available restrooms, and even a catered lunch. The film was informative and the speakers were excellent, taking plenty of time to answer everyone's questions and provide useful information.
I had been looking for an avenue to become more informed and involved. My work schedule makes it difficult to attend events and meetings, and Saturdays are the easiest day for me to attend a function. Being that I'm almost a recluse, it took quite an effort for me to actually attend, but Act Jacksonville and Act for America are making a great effort in the battle to save America, and I wanted to be supportive. Let's all wake up to #CivilizationJihad.
